Hydrangea loneliness and a few other garden shots

This was my only bloom on the hydrangeas this year – and I knew that going in last year when I whacked these things down to a manageable size.  The yard here was/still is so overgrown it just had to be done.  The previous owner also had these in full sun – NEWSFLASH – using google and about 2 seconds of effort – you will find out that hydrangeas do not do well in full sun.  I have dug about 5 up already and moved to the other side of the yard where they get spotty shade/sun all day.  I have about 4 more to move but will have to wait for fall.

There is a patch of lilies on the side of the house, down by the compost area – in front of the fence.  Now WHY they are over there is of course, a previous owner mystery.  You can’t see them from the front yard – you can’t see them from the backyard.  They are actually behind a huge stand of calla lillies – which I hate.  More schtuff to move around and break my back for.

Just a weed – but an interesting weed and made an ever better picture in black and white.
